Faint hearts almost always mean the chocolate got too hot. Melt it gently and the rainbow comes out bright.

    Microwave chopped chocolate in 20-second bursts, stirring each time, until just smooth. Keep it at or below 122°F (50°C).

    Slide the mold into the fridge on a flat tray for 15 to 30 minutes, until the bars are firm.
